Size: Still in 12 month and some 18 month clothes. I feel like this is the longest any size lasted.
Hair: brown and getting so long! We are able to put it in a cute ponytail with a barrette, but if she notices it she tries to pull it out
Eyes: still big, beautiful, brown, and aware!
Teeth: She had 3 on her birthday (2 bottom and 1 top), and now she has 1 more top and another bottom poking through, so 6 total. She cut 3 this past week!! I think I felt another bottom one just under her gums. She cut
Sleeping: She is sleeping fairly well. She still wakes up sometimes during the night and her naps vary in duration, but I think that will be more consistent when she transitions to one nap in the next few months.
Eating: She still nurses 4-6 times a day, and sometimes at night. When I go back to work in 2 weeks, I won't pump but still plan to nurse in the morning and evening. I plan to see if she self weans. She loves her table food. She had a blueberry obsession for a few weeks, but the past couple of days she refused them. She has been very picky this last week and I wonder if it was her teeth. I make her a smoothie every morning and she loves that, along with her Cheerios. She still loves pizza and ravioli. She is just like her daddy. She eats most fruit but doesn't eat as much veggies as I would like (part of that is my fault because we aren't great at eating veggies). I plan to start putting a little spinach in her smoothies. Don't judge if you haven't tried it- you can't taste it and it's a great way to get a serving of veggies in.
Movement: She is taking several steps on her own now. She pushes her shopping cart and little toy horse all around the house. She will lift them up and whip them around corners or over bumps if needed. It's so funny. She prefers to walk now instead of crawl. She just needs to take more steps independently. We go to the pool a lot and it's difficult when she wants to walk around the concrete because I have to hang on to her tighter than I would at home.
Milestones: Taking steps on her own, celebrating her first birthday, spending another night with Nana (and one with her other grandma coming up), I know there are more but I'm blanking. I will have to come back and edit later.
Favorite Toys/Activities: She still loves her books, but right now she LOVES balls. That is her favorite word, along with dog. She also loves her shopping cart and her toy horse, which she never rides, just pushes. One day she climbed into her shopping cart. I was putting some laundry away so I did not see exactly how she did it, but I snapped a pic before I lifted her out. She still loves climbing Shorty's doggie stairs. She plays peek-a-boo with us regularly. I love watching her put her little hands over her eyes.
Dislikes: She still hates getting her face wiped, and she really doesn't like when she can't move around the way she wants. When we go to the pool now we spend more time out of it than in it.
Words & Sounds: She says bye-bye, dog, ball, dada, mama, hi, and she has started pointing and saying "Dat," which I think means "What's that?" |
